Their wedding at The Tigh-na-mara resort was filled with emotion, laughter, intent, and sentiment and in that way, was a beautiful reflection of who they are.
Wyatt and Erin Mt. Washinton Wedding
He fell in love with his patience and sense of humor and he loved her sassy attitude, great sense of humor, and caring personality. All these characteristics shone at this stunning Mt. Washington wedding.
Cody and Caitlin Nanaimo Wedding
The vision was to have a wedding in their Nanaimo backyard, that foremost was meaningful and true to them, with personal details sprinkled throughout – from saying their vows next to a tree planted in Caitlin’s dad’s memory to have a cake made by a friend, the day was full of sentiment. Secondly, the day had to be fun, it was important to them to gift this to their group of close family and friends.
Sarah and Steven Dolphin’s Resort Campbell River Wedding
An exact year before their wedding date, Steven surprised Sarah with a getaway to Campbell River. When she said yes, he took her on a tour of Dolphin’s Resort, which he had already booked for their wedding, because the dates were filling up and he knew she loved it. This is just a little snippet of the romance and adventure these two hold together.
Roberta by The River
The Body Shift program which I co-facilitated earlier this year at Studio IPF was full of an incredibly diverse group of woman, most of who were new to me. A perk though was getting to reconnect with some woman who I call my “Comox Valley Roots.”

So many pieces of heart
At 23 weeks, Natasha went into labour, and five days later gave birth to Rikley in the fall of 2016. Yana was there to offer their help. Natasha and her husband Paul didn’t need YANA’s help because this part of their story, sadly, ended very quickly. Rikley had 8 heart attacks in his 7 1/2 hours of life, and Natasha and Paul had to say goodbye to their first son the same day he was born.
Sam and Mike Hornby Island Wedding
Based on who these two are, it is no surprise that the wedding was full of solid, long-term friends, who were giving every little bit toward this celebration. It was a busy day, with emotions running high before the ceremony and quite the party into the night. Nestled between this we snuck off to Helliwell Park,
I am happier, but let’s be real a little grumpier too
It is a funny thing being a wedding photographer. Wonderfully in love people come into my life, and invite me into their world. I get to witness their nerves, their connection, their hopes and what is in their heart. I feel their excitement and some of their vulnerability.

Week Three, School is crazy making
14 days into it: I made it through dance week, with great joy actually. I happily head off for a jaunt to Victoria and Saltspring Island for photo shoots. The solo time is a brilliant gift. While I am still carrying around a low-level fatigue I feel like I see rainbows and unicorns everywhere. Actually, the light was incredible for my photo sessions and I did see a rainbow. My oven doesn’t work.
and now she is a cancer survivor..
I started documenting sickness when it was for someone really close to me, as a way for the family and child to be able to look back and process their journey. I have always wondered why, in society, we just photograph the easy joy? Isn’t it what we experience and how we walk when we are “in the trenches” that is a substantial part of who we are and where we find our growth? So I hoped the photos would be a gift – one that would help them celebrate their hardship in a different way and allow them to later look back and realize how much they travelled through.
In the Green - Gabriola Getaway
It started as a trip to Mexico, then morphed into a Rocky Mountain road tip, and evolved into an easily attainable and meaningful Gabriola Island getaway.
Sad and in love. About awards, trump and writing to myself
My daughter and I also talked a lot. About Trump. About being Jewish and the Jewish response to Trump. About choice. About fear. About education. About balance. While regulating my dialogue with my teen, I personally can’t turn away from the news and I don’t think I will. It isn’t the right solution for me.
Pretty Sure I won
The deadline is only 5 days away. Friday night I sat down and started going through which images to enter in a national wedding photographer’s competition. For this competition, each season you have the chance to compete, racking up points (hopefully) for your annual placement. You can technically enter as many images as you want, as long as you are willing to pay the extra price.
Inner Pursuit Fitness
So when I have the chance to take new photographs for her we always get pumped. This time there was something significant to celebrate. In true Leanne fashion she is growing her business to meet the demands of her loyal participants, and continuing to innovate her business.
Jon and Alyse Tofino Beach Wedding
Jon and Alyse, along with a phenomenal group of friends and family, travelled mostly from Alberta to celebrate at the always stunning and impeccable Long Beach Lodge. After a sunny ceremony, they kept the mood casual and festive as they enjoyed an incredible meal and finished the evening around the fire.
Comox Women are…
“You Don’t Have to Be Pretty. You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother. You don’t owe it to your children. You don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked female.”
