This year, we won’t have the opportunity to celebrate our high school grads in the traditional way. I am a mom of a 2020 Grad and I am heartbroken for them. So we created a specially priced session for the Grad Class of 2020.

The Body Shift program which I co-facilitated earlier this year at Studio IPF was full of an incredibly diverse group of woman, most of who were new to me. A perk though was getting to reconnect with some woman who I call my “Comox Valley Roots.”

I shot this session of Christine a few weeks ago. The images feel so truthful to who she is. So I asked her to share her thoughts around what she sees and feels when she looks at these images. Chrissy, I appreciate you every day of the week, as we work together and as you pour your heart into what we do.

“You Don’t Have to Be Pretty. You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother. You don’t owe it to your children. You don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked female.”
