Theo Comox Valley Grad 2021

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨 - 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏

Theo is my last grad session of 2021 and it was so special - we had everything we needed - friends, family, the family dog, the ocean and the forest.

Theo brought everything I adore about spending tie with grads. He was curious, shared wisdom, laughed easily and we squeezed in some good conversation about cheese. Theo, thank you for making it out to the forest in the morning and letting me get to know you better. You are a stellar human and I wish you all the best on this next adventure.

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬?

My parents, coaches and high school teachers, who inspired and supported me. They made a huge difference in my life and I'm really grateful for them.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲?

Competing 4 times at the VEX Robotics World Championships in Kentucky. Travelling with friends and competing with international robotics teams was just so much fun. Generally, the highlight of my high school years was all the fun experiences from robotics and programming.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮?

I'm heading off to Queen's University for Engineering in the Fall! It's quite far, and I'm very excited. Queen's is a great school and the Engineering program is very well established.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫?

In April, I received a Schulich Scholarship for Engineering at Queen's! It was a massive surprise, but it's really exciting. Not only does the scholarship allow me to focus on my studies, it provides me with many opportunities and connections at university. I'm really humbled and thankful for the award.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨?

I'm looking forward to living in residence, being part of the university community, and learning about things I'm really interested in. It's going to be a totally different environment and I'm really excited for it.
