A Celebration for a Superhero

The story: When you have a critically ill child there is always uncertainty.

Now, add a layer of global uncertainty.

When you have a critically ill child understandably, there is fear.

Now add Covid-10 health pandemic fear.

When you have a critically ill child you often need to isolate, and now isolation is definitive.

But when you have a critically ill child, and you live in the Comox Valley and you need support it is there. Add all the challenges of a global pandemic and that love does not go away – it actually multiplies.

Today the community came together to celebrate superhero Chase, who has Leukemia and his sidekicks, him mom and dad and his siblings (and we all know how important the superhero sidekick is -right?). There was an endless stream of cars, including RCMP and Comox Valley Fire. There was a military flyover by 19-Wing and a helicopter.

Happy 8th Chase. You are deeply loved.

Thank you for allowing the community to join in your celebration, and reminding us that love and isn’t cancelled. You gave us all a gift today.
