Azusa and Sam, Comox Wedding

Who: Sam and Azusa

Their story: Three years ago Sam and Azusa met at Yoyogi Park in Japan during Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and later they became engaged on the other side of the world, at Goose Spit in the Comox Valley. They share a love of travelling, cooking, exploring nature, watching movies, caring for animals and spots - that is a lot to go on. They also are both now finishing their education in Victoria, him as an elementary school teacher and her as an early childhood educator - that is a lot of heart. They have an easy way with each other. In addition to how much they have in common, I was struck by how courteous they are to each other and how much they laugh - it is a joy to experience and I truly just feel so happy for them - writing this is making me smile as I think about how much their mutual adoration radiates

The details: After a private backyard ceremony in the marriage commissioners’ back yard (thank you Anita, you are amazing) with five guests (and many zooming in from Japan) the couple went back to the groom’s mom’s backyard to visit with their guests. They enjoyed an incredible spread catered by More Eatery topped off by a cake from Cakebread. The flowers were something Sam and Azusa were looking forward to and Bezaire Floral and Events blew us all away with her creation. Kayla Ray did a beautiful job of the bride’s hair and makeup.
