Craig and Caroline, Qualicum Bay Wedding
Who: Caroline and Craig
Their story: When I first talked on the phone with Craig about his wedding, he had me crushing on photographing their wedding within no time. It was the way he talked about Caroline, and how they wanted to celebrate their good fortune of finding each other with close friends and family.
When I finally met Craig and Caroline in person, I quickly became smitten. As we talked wedding, life, career, music and more, they hung onto each other’s words, laughed and were kind to one another – their connection radiated.
From the small things, like Saturdays at a cafe or hitting the gym, to big adventures, like planning a wedding, these two have it figured out.
Their wedding was wonderful, and both my assistant and I officially have friend crushes on them. When you are photographing a wedding, you are watching, witnessing and connecting with the feelings. What I saw were my two favorite qualities, kindness, and humour. A kindness that extends towards their friends and family and a laughter that brings others in, but most importantly that is shared between the two of them.
Craig and Caroline fell in love on Vancouver Island. After one night out, they knew they had met ‘the one’. He was instantly smitten by her beauty and intelligence and she fell for his spontaneity. On December 31, 2017, while on holiday in Hawaii, Craig bought a ukulele. He put it to good use, playing “The Book of Love” by The Magnetic Fields and then getting down on one knee in the sand asking Caroline to be his wife.
