Meet Taryn - Grad 2022

I first met Taryn when I photographed her family at the beach, in one of the windiest sessions of my career. They were all troupers, laughing and going with it. I remember it was Taryn that helped keep them organized and cracked some solid jokes off to the side with me. For this beach session, we had no wind, but Taryn did bring her solid sense of humor and focus - while also shining in front of the lens!

Taryn wishing you all the good experiences that university can bring, and your impressive quick wit and obvious “get-er-done attitude” will no doubt serve you well.

What are you doing next year? I am moving to Edmonton to go to the University of Alberta to study Biological sciences. Sciences have always been my biggest interest, I have never been a socials or english person, so thought I should stay on this path and I am interested in going into medicine.

What are you looking forward to? Moving away and experiencing things on my own, with more independence. I am looking forward to going back to school but being finished with high school

What is one of your memories in your time in high school that you appreciate? Ms.Murcheson, my pre-calculus and calculus teacher. I wouldn’t have been able to do math this year without her. I hope that I will be able to do good next year, because I took it with her.

What has been challenging this year? Time management with school and figuring out getting my life ready for next year. Building a new chapter of my life while still being in this one has been challenging.

What will you miss about the Comox Valley? I am moving to Edmonton, so there is nothing to look at - I will miss the beach and the ocean.
