Sheena + Stephen married on Forbidden Plateau
It was set in motion with a meeting in Holland, a friendship grew during a chance connection in Fort McMurray, and their love was celebrated at their beautiful new home on Forbidden Plateau on May 17.
Sheena and Stephen invited their friends and family to join them in their sweet oasis, as they exchanged vows in a joyous and genuine ceremony. The mood was light, happy, comfortable and real. The rain stayed away, the fiddlers provided the background and their wedding party kept everyone laughing. Sheena and Stephen shone. They treated everyone with such grace and love, you couldn’t help but pick up their glow.
After the ceremony, and some photos between rain showers, everyone headed to the Native Sons Hall in Courtenay, where guests honored these two with meaningful and emotional speeches, the bride sang and the dancing got serious.
Sheena and Stephen, from that first day sitting with you at your kitchen table chatting, you felt like familiar friends. I am so thankful first off, that you picked our lovely town to set down roots in. You fit right in and it was lovely to see you including some of the valley’s treasures at your wedding. We are so very happy to have you. Secondly, thank you for choosing me to be part of your incredible day.
