Karen, once again you blow my mind!!! Am beyond happy and in love with all!!
There was no engagement ring, and instead the groom proposed with cowboy boots. Their horse had a starring role. The bridesmaids all met through horse culture. They said “I do” on a ranch and it was all a beautiful reflection of who they are.
I first met Tammy when she was in front of my camera a few years back. She is just the kind of person that inspired me – someone who sets their own rules, laughs uninhibitedly and loves fiercely. Shortly after our first meeting, I received a moving email from her, recounting the proposal by her boyfriend Keir and asking me to be their wedding photographer. I love that she took the time to share their story and of course, that she envisioned me as part of their day.
When I finally met Keir quite a bit later, despite his incredible proposal, I was skeptical. I mean, really, could he be as fabulous as Tammy? What I saw when I met Keir, was someone completely effective, funny, engaging, interested and wild about his fiancee. I was smitten.
Their wedding was held at the Broody Rooster Gallery & Guesthouse, which is the home of their close friends John & Nicole. John and Nicole actually set Tammy and Keir up, and their first meeting was at this very place. The ceremony was held in a beautiful field, with hay bales and rays of sunshine, and an officiant who was a close friend of theirs. The warmth of the ceremony continued through the dinner hour and into an evening of dancing in the barn.
So many people worked hard to make this wedding so beautiful, but what truly made it shine for me, is that on top of all the fabulous details, Tammy and Keir never seemed to lose sight of why they were there, and were so gracious and present.
You two – thank you for sharing yourselves with me.
