I have included tons of portraits of Rianna and Cory’s Hornby Island wedding because I just couldn’t decide. The photos take me back to this beautiful day, the ocean, the trees and Rianna and Cory’s unique and very sweet story.
Their time together dates back to when they were children and their families camped along side each other at the very magical Heron Rocks on Hornby Island. Cory was smitten from an early age, trying his luck out at just 12 years old. But it took meeting again a few years ago, both single, both living in Victoria, for him to win her over.
With the stunning family of oak, fir, and arbutus trees behind them and the character of the rocks and ocean in front Rianna and Cory said I do, not just where they grew up soaking up summer, but at the very place both their fathers grew up camping. With their closest friends, and of course their family, the mood was really, best described as “just right.” It felt perfect. The day was an incredible gift and celebration of this beautiful place we live and all the warmth of true love.
Rianna, Cory and their friends and family. Thank you for sharing your day with me. For welcoming me so beautifully, laughing with me and allowing me the pleasure of capturing these memories. Heron Rocks has always been a grounding, peaceful place for me – one of my favorites and now when I revisit it, the memory of your spectacular day will accompany me.
