Comox Valley Wedding

Tags: , ,

I felt something at this wedding that I haven’t exactly felt before – it was like being at a private party where everyone knew each other Yes, weddings are private parties, yes, people often know each other at a wedding – but this was different, it had the energy of being invited to an event in someone’s home with lifelong friends.

Nicole and Matthew have been a couple since their early university days, but they go back further, as friends in high school and even as ten-year-olds on the same soccer team.  Since then they have completed ridiculous admirable levels of education, which included navigated a long distance relationship, and collected albums of memories. These two know each other and their friends and family cheer them on ..hard!

I enjoyed every bit of this wedding immensely. There was endless enthusiasm (they chose to run playfully down to the other side of the beach, rather then the typical saunter) and had the sweetest mannerisms together, (Nicole and Matthew do you know you tend to tilt your foreheads together when you snuggle ? :))  The wedding party was deliciously lovely and hilarious and the speeches overflowed with heart.

Nicole and Matthew – I adore you and your day. You had all the elements one could wish for – emotion, beautiful nature, and the intense feeling of the love that you carry between the two of you and from those friends and family you have been gifted. Thank you so much for having me there to witness such a heartfelt, honest celebration.
